Details of Recent Disappearances
Mahmood, a resident of Panjgur, was allegedly detained by security forces a few days ago in Isa, and has since gone missing.
In Turbat, a military operation is ongoing in the Behman area, with Pakistani forces carrying out raids on Tuesday night. Five individuals were taken into custody during the raid:
- Nauman Rafiq
- Raheel AliNotal National Highway
- Roshan Ali
- Adam Ghulam Jan
- Naseem Basheer
In Quetta, Hafiz Ali, a resident of Kharan, was detained from Quetta Hotel while accompanying his mother for medical treatment. His current whereabouts remain unknown.
In a separate incident, Hafiz Ali’s brother, Mubarak, was also forcibly disappeared the previous day in Kharan after being detained by security forces. Protests have since erupted in Kharan’s Red Zone, with family members and Baloch activists demanding the safe recovery of both brothers.
Protest in Gwadar Against Enforced Disappearance of Muslim Baloch
In Gwadar, a protest rally was held by the family of Muslim Baloch, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces.
Muslim, son of Ahmed Ali, was reportedly taken from his home in Shambay Ismail on 10 December 2024 and has been missing ever since. The protest saw participation from women, children, and youth, who gathered to demand justice.
Family Calls for Immediate Release of Muslim Baloch
The family expressed their anger, stating that if Muslim or any other individual is accused of a crime, they should be presented in a court of law rather than subjected to enforced disappearance. They further accused the Pakistani authorities of targeting Baloch people based solely on their ethnicity.
Protesters also called for an end to enforced disappearances and an immediate halt to the psychological distress being inflicted on Baloch families.
Turbat: Family Holds Press Conference Over Forcible Disappearance of Waseem Malang
The family of Waseem Malang, a resident of Aapsar, Turbat, has held a press conference at Turbat Press Club after Waseem was forcibly disappeared from his home on Friday night.
According to Saima Malang, Waseem’s sister, eight armed vehicles arrived at their residence, with personnel in both black uniforms and plain clothes. During the raid, women and children were allegedly subjected to violence, while personal belongings, including mobile phones, were seized.
Family Demands Waseem’s Safe Return
Saima described how her elderly father and younger brother were left outside in the cold while the women were locked inside the house. The family has called for justice and demanded the safe return of Waseem Malang.
Waseem, who is the family’s sole breadwinner, had returned home from work, eaten dinner, and gone to sleep before being taken. His family remains confused as to why he was targeted if he had not committed any crimes.
Turbat: Family Pleads for the Return of Sanwal Marri, Missing for 12 Years
In another case of enforced disappearance, Rehmat Khan Marri, a farmer from Dasht Mirani Dam, addressed the media at Turbat Press Club, appealing for the return of his elder brother, Sanwal Khan Marri, who has been missing for 12 years.
Sanwal, son of Ahmed Khan Marri, was taken on 13 February 2013 from the Notal National Highway in Sibi, Bakhtiarabad, while traveling from Sindh to Kohlu.
Appeal for Justice After Years of Silence
Rehmat Khan explained that he was detained along with his brother, blindfolded, and taken to an unknown location. Although he was released after 13 months of imprisonment, his brother’s whereabouts remain unknown to this day.
Despite repeated attempts to gain answers through JIT hearings and petitions submitted to local authorities, there has been no resolution.
“I am drowning in debt, with young children depending on me. I plead with the authorities to bring my brother to justice and bring an end to our suffering,” said Rehmat Khan, who also expressed his financial difficulties as a result of his brother’s disappearance.
