Sammi Deen Baloch, a central member of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), speaks out against what she describes as the state’s systematic efforts to suppress the Baloch people and weaken the movement.
She explains that a coordinated narrative is being built to discredit BYC, which is leading an organised resistance against ongoing oppression. According to her, this resistance is something the state cannot tolerate, as it challenges actions carried out without accountability.
Sammi Deen Baloch highlights that various methods are being used to undermine BYC, including forcing individuals to hold press conferences against the organisation. Many of those targeted, she says, are people whose loved ones have been missing for years, along with supporters, sympathisers, and even individuals with no direct connection to BYC.
She emphasises that BYC is not a small group, but a national movement representing the voice of the Baloch people. She also points out that its leadership is currently imprisoned and facing serious hardships.
Furthermore, she warns that people are being pressured and blackmailed into making statements that support the state narrative. She stresses that accepting such pressure will only allow these tactics to continue and raises concerns about targeting individuals based on their identity.
In conclusion, she states that speaking against BYC under pressure is not a solution and calls on the public to resist such tactics. She urges people to recognise BYC as a national movement and to stand firm against attempts to weaken it.
