Balochistan – The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has expressed grave concern over the worsening security situation in Balochistan, particularly in the Makran region, where violence against the Baloch people continues to surge. The committee’s spokesperson highlighted the daily discovery of Baloch bodies, accompanied by an alarming rise in targeted killings, abductions, and the murders of students, intellectuals, and even minors.

In a statement, the spokesperson condemned the recent killings of prominent Baloch figures, including Allah Dad Baloch, Abdul Wahid, Hatim Ali, Hayat Sabzal, and Miraj Baloch. The committee described these murders as part of a broader, state-sponsored strategy aimed at suppressing Baloch resistance and silencing dissent.
One of the most brutal incidents, according to the BYC, was the killing of 16-year-old Miraj Baloch, son of Abdul Qadir, on the streets of Tump in District Kech. Miraj was allegedly shot dead in broad daylight by local ‘death squads.’ The BYC emphasised that this attack is not an isolated incident but part of a systematic campaign to instil fear and eliminate opposition in the region.
The committee further condemned the involvement of Pakistani security forces and local paramilitary death squads, accusing them of carrying out these killings with state backing. The BYC argues that the primary targets are educated Baloch individuals, seen as threats to the state’s control over the region.
In response to these ongoing atrocities, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee has called for collective resistance against the killings. It urged the Baloch community to unite in demanding the right to life for all Baloch people and appealed to international bodies and human rights organisations to take immediate action to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
