Aomar Karim, a Baloch political and human rights activist, has tweeted that his cousin, Tahir Baloch, was extrajudicially killed by Pakistani armed-backed death squads in Balochistan earlier this month.
In a statement posted on social media on January 26, Karim said that Tahir, just 21 years old, was killed on January 21 in the KoshKalat area of Tump, in Kech district.
“On 21 January 2026, my cousin Tahir Baloch, just 21 years old, was extrajudicially killed in KoshKalat, Tump, Kech, Balochistan by Pakistani armed-backed death squads,” Karim wrote.
The activist said the killing was not an isolated incident but part of a broader pattern of state-backed violence directed at Baloch youth and ordinary civilians across the region.
“This is part of a wider pattern of state-backed violence against Baloch youth and civilians,” he added, using the hashtag #StopBalochGenocide.
Human rights groups have repeatedly raised concerns over alleged extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and the use of armed proxy militias in Balochistan.
Karim’s statement has added to growing international calls for independent investigations into human rights abuses in the Balochistan.
