Quetta, Balochistan – A Baloch man has reportedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani intelligence agencies from inside Quetta International Airport, raising fresh concerns over enforced disappearances in the region.

According to sources, Fareed, son of Muhammad Azam and a resident of Nushki, Balochistan, was taken into custody by plainclothes officers shortly after arriving from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he had been working for years.

Eyewitnesses report that Fareed was detained immediately after completing immigration and customs procedures. His family, who had been waiting outside the airport to receive him, became alarmed when he failed to appear. After hours of searching, they were unofficially informed that he had been taken by intelligence personnel.
His disappearance has sparked fear and outrage within the Baloch community, which has long accused Pakistani security forces of abducting Baloch activists, intellectuals, and ordinary citizens. Human rights organisations have repeatedly condemned enforced disappearances in Balochistan, calling them a violation of both national and international laws.
Fareed’s family is urgently seeking information about his whereabouts and safety. They have appealed to human rights organisations, political leaders, and the media to intervene and demand his immediate release.
