The state of Pakistan has crossed all boundaries of terror in Quetta, launching a violent crackdown on peaceful protesters. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has issued a statement condemning the brutal actions of Pakistani security forces, who have relentlessly attacked a peaceful sit-in protest for the past five to six hours.
According to reports, the area has been completely sealed off by security forces, and ambulances have been blocked from reaching the wounded. Hundreds of peaceful protesters have been arrested, and there are continuous reports of live ammunition being fired at the public. Civilian properties have also been damaged by plainclothes intelligence officers.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has stated that, due to the ongoing state violence and its impact on the safety of civilians, they have decided to postpone the planned protest in Quetta tonight. The committee has announced that the next course of action will be revealed tomorrow morning.
This escalating violence further exposes the Pakistan government’s disregard for human rights and its relentless crackdown on peaceful activism in Balochistan.
