The Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC) has formally written to the United Nations Secretary-General, urging immediate intervention in the ongoing repression of Baloch activists in Pakistan. BHRC calls upon the UN to press the Pakistani authorities for the immediate and unconditional release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other members of the Baloch Yekjehti Committee, who have been unlawfully detained.
The arrest of peaceful activists advocating for human rights and justice in Balochistan is a blatant violation of fundamental freedoms and democratic principles. The international community must not remain silent as voices demanding truth and accountability are silenced through force and intimidation.
We urge the United Nations and the global human rights community to take immediate and concrete action to ensure the safety and freedom of Baloch activists and to hold Pakistan accountable for its continued human rights violations.

The Baloch Human Rights Council is honoured to host a distinguished event featuring Professor Carina Jahani, a world-renowned scholar and expert on the Balochi language from Uppsala University, Sweden. Professor Jahani will visit London in June 2025 to launch her latest publications in Balochi. In recognition of her contribution to Balochi linguistics and literature, a full-day programme has been organised on Sunday, 22nd June 2025. This event will provide a valuable platform for the UK-based Baloch community to engage in meaningful discussions on the current challenges and future prospects of the Balochi language.
