A civilian has been seriously injured in a reported quadcopter attack carried out by Pakistani forces in Mastung district, Balochistan, on Wednesday night.
Local sources said the incident took place in Umar Dor, Dasht, where a watchman at the Basic Health Unit (BHU) was targeted by a drone. A device was dropped from the quadcopter, causing an explosion that left the man, named as Sajjad Kurd, badly wounded. He was later taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not issued any official statement on the incident.
Residents said drone strikes and aerial attacks have increasingly targeted civilians in parts of Balochistan, fuelling anger and protests across the province.
Last month, three motorcyclists were killed in alleged helicopter shelling in Kardegap. On 11 August, a young boy named Muhammad, son of Abdul Ghafoor, was killed in Gomazi after mortar fire was reportedly launched by Pakistani security forces.
Human rights groups and Baloch activists have long accused the military of using drones, helicopters and heavy weaponry against civilian populations in the region, claims the authorities have consistently denied.
