Dr.MahrangBaloch ’s Speech- Zoom rally on Human Rights Situation in Balochistan
🔖: #mahrangbaloch is a #Baloch #humanrightsactivist against unlawful #enforceddisappearances and #extrajudicial killing by the authorities in Balochistan.
On December 12, 2009, her father was forcibly abducted by #Pakistan security forces on his way to the hospital in #Karachi . At the age of 16, she immediately started protesting his abduction and became known in the student resistance movement. In July 2011, her father was found dead with signs of torture.
Her brother was later arrested in December 2017 and was detained for over 3 months. Since then, she has been one of the prominent figure in the #Baloch resistance movement.
She has protested the government’s extraction of natural resources from Balochistan. In 2020, she led a group of students protesting the proposed removal of the quota system at #BolanMedicalCollege, which reserves spots for medical students coming from remote areas of the Balochistan. As a result of the group’s activism and #hungerstrikes, the proposed policy change was cancelled.

The #Balochistan to #Islamabad Long March also called Baloch Long March is a protest movement led by Mahrang Baloch and other #Balochwomen activists, who are marching towards Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, to protest #humanrightsviolations and enforced disappearances in Balochistan. The march was a response to the growing number of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the region. According to #BalochYakjehtiCommittee , The protestors were detained by #IslamabadPolice. Later a bail was approved that resulted in the release of all participants.
