Families of forcibly disappeared and detained leaders of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) have completed their 52nd consecutive day of protest in Islamabad, despite enduring extreme weather and continuous pressure from authorities.
Since mid-July, relatives—including elderly women, mothers and children—have held a sit-in to demand the release of BYC leaders and an end to enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Protesters say they have faced scorching heat, heavy rains, harassment and surveillance, yet remain steadfast in their call for justice.

Despite the prolonged demonstration, Pakistani authorities have continued to block access to the National Press Club, refuse permission to set up a protest camp, and subject participants to intimidation instead of addressing their grievances.
Human rights groups have voiced concern over the treatment of protesters, urging the government to engage with the families and investigate cases of enforced disappearances.
