π: Who is Harris Khalique?
Harris Khalique is a Pakistani poet in Urdu, English, and Punjabi. Khalique has authored ten collections of poetry and two books of non-fiction. In March 2018, he received the Presidential Pride of Performance Award from the state of Pakistan as an acknowledgment of his contributions to poetry. He is also the author of Crimson Papers (2017), a book of essays on the political and social history of Pakistan.
Khalique has participated in labor, women, and minority rights movements and has published papers and spoken at conferences on South Asian history and culture, politics, and issues around human rights and international development.

The Baloch Human Rights Council is honoured to host a distinguished event featuring Professor Carina Jahani, a world-renowned scholar and expert on the Balochi language from Uppsala University, Sweden. Professor Jahani will visit London in June 2025 to launch her latest publications in Balochi. In recognition of her contribution to Balochi linguistics and literature, a full-day programme has been organised on Sunday, 22nd June 2025. This event will provide a valuable platform for the UK-based Baloch community to engage in meaningful discussions on the current challenges and future prospects of the Balochi language.
