A mother and her daughter have been left in critical condition after allegedly being abducted, tortured and abandoned at a hospital by Pakistani security forces in the troubled province of Balochistan.
The shocking incident allegedly unfolded in the Panchi area of Panjgur, where the women were taken during a military raid. According to witnesses and local media reports, the pair were subjected to brutal physical abuse before being dumped in a semi-conscious state at Panjgur Hospital.
Disturbingly, local residents claim the daughter was sexually assaulted by security personnel before being abandoned alongside her mother. The women are said to be fighting for their lives.
Pakistani authorities have yet to issue a response to the allegations.
Activist Slams Pakistan, Calls for International Intervention
Baloch human rights and political activist Aomar Karim strongly condemned the incident, saying it reflects the brutal reality faced by women in Balochistan every day. “This is what Pakistan is doing in Balochistan on a daily basis,” he said. “Some cases of sexual violence and human-rights abuses are reported, but many are never made public due to fear and repression.” Karim urged the international community, global human-rights bodies and women’s rights organisations to speak up for Baloch women and hold Pakistan accountable for what he described as systematic abuses and violations.
Rights Group Outraged
The Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) condemned the alleged attack, branding it a “sickening example of impunity and moral collapse”.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the group said:
“Pakistani forces abducted a mother and her daughter from Panjgur’s Panchi area, brutally tortured them, and later left them in critical condition at a hospital. It is alleged that the daughter was sexually assaulted before being dumped there.”

The organisation demanded an immediate, independent investigation and accountability for those responsible.
If what happened in #Panjgur is true—a mother & daughter abducted, tortured, daughter r*ped by security forces—then the world must finally admit: #Balochistan is #Pakistan’s occupied war zone.
Human-rights advocates say the horrifying case is not an isolated incident.
Last month, a woman named Safia Bibi was allegedly abducted during a raid in Khuzdar district and later released. In another case, 23-year-old student Mahjabeen Baloch vanished from her hostel in Quetta in May — just days after her brother was also taken. While her brother was eventually freed, Mahjabeen remains missing.
Campaigners warn rising reports of sexual violence, enforced disappearances and abuse against women are deepening fear and mistrust in the region.
Calls for Action
Rights activists say the Panjgur case must serve as a wake-up call to Pakistan’s government and the international community.
They insist that continued silence and a lack of accountability are fuelling a crisis of human rights in Balochistan — where activists have long accused the state of waging a campaign of intimidation and terror.
