Baloch human rights and political activists have called on the UK Home Office to suspend the deportation of Shabar Jamaldini, a young Baloch activist and active member of the Baloch National Movement UK (Cambridgeshire unit), amid serious concerns for his safety in Pakistan.
The Baloch National Movement (BNM) highlighted on Twitter that, over the past two decades, many of their leaders and members have been killed or forcibly disappeared in Balochistan, with hundreds still missing following abductions by Pakistani security forces. Despite these threats, Baloch activists continue their peaceful advocacy for human rights from exile in Western countries.
BNM warned that deporting Shabar would constitute an attack on freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, placing him directly in danger from those who have targeted countless Baloch activists. “This is not only a political case but a matter of life and death,” they said.
Social media activists, including Aomar Karim, a prominent Baloch human rights and political activist, have also voiced their concerns. Karim tweeted:
“I respectfully urge the suspension of Shabar Jamaldini’s deportation to Pakistan, where there are serious concerns for his safety. Protecting lives is central to the UK’s commitment to justice and human rights.”

It remains unclear whether Shabar Jamaldini is still in the custody of Peterborough Police or has been transferred to an immigration detention centre.
