Human Rights Group Reports Enforced Disappearances and Ongoing Harassment in Balochistan

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), a prominent human rights group, has reported several recent cases of enforced disappearances, allegedly carried out by "security forces and state-sponsored death squads" in Balochistan.
Balochistan, Pakistan, February 15 – The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), a prominent human rights group, has reported several recent cases of enforced disappearances, allegedly carried out by “security forces and state-sponsored death squads” in Balochistan.
In a post on X, BYC outlined the disappearances and claimed that victims’ families faced harassment, including threats and confiscation of their phones by security forces.
Enforced Disappearances

Saeed Jan, son of Abdul Khaliq, from Kor-e-Posht, Tehsil Buleda, District Kech, was forcibly disappeared on the night of February 14, 2025. The family reported threats and attacks by security forces, with their phones confiscated.
Jummah, son of Essa, from Jeyyan, Tehsil-Paroom, District Panjgur, was disappeared by security forces in February 2025. The family faced threats and harassment.
Nizam, son of Iraaz Muhammad, also from Jeyyan, Tehsil-Paroom, District Panjgur, was forcibly disappeared by security forces in February 2025. The Frontier Corps (FC) allegedly tortured and harassed the family.
Zahir Hasrat, son of Khalil Baloch, from Gumazi, Tehsil-Tump, District Kech, was forcibly disappeared on February 13, 2025.
Mir Dost, son of Ubaid Ullah, from Gibon, District Kech, was disappeared by security forces on February 13, 2025.
Balochistan continues to struggle with issues of state repression, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings. The region also faces significant economic neglect, with inadequate development, poor infrastructure, and limited political autonomy.
Earlier, BYC organizer Mahrang Baloch also raised concerns over the abduction of Baloch woman Asma Baloch, noting that Balochistan remains one of the most dangerous regions in terms of human rights.
“Balochistan remains one of the most dangerous regions in terms of human rights, where enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings are rampant. Pakistan’s security forces and their allied militias operate with impunity, while the international community largely remains silent in the face of this ongoing brutality,” Baloch stated.
