London, 20 July 2025 – A peaceful demonstration was held today outside 10 Downing Street, London, to protest against the ongoing enforced disappearances in Balochistan. The protest, led by Salia Marri – the wife of forcibly disappeared Baloch citizen Mir Taj Muhammad Sarparah – aimed to draw attention to the plight of countless families in Balochistan still searching for their missing loved ones.
Mir Taj Muhammad Sarparah has been missing for five years following his enforced disappearance. Speaking at the protest, Salia Marri appealed to the international community and human rights organisations to act urgently and demand his safe release.
“It’s been five years since my husband was forcibly disappeared. I call upon all individuals to stand with us in solidarity as we demand his safe release and justice for all Baloch missing persons,” said Mrs Marri.
Baloch human rights and political activist Aomar Karim participated in the protest, showing solidarity with the victims’ families and emphasising the need for international pressure on Pakistan to address the crisis of enforced disappearances.
Demonstrators carried placards and chanted slogans such as “Free All Enforced Disappeared in Balochistan” and “Stop Human Rights Violations in Balochistan.” Protesters called on the international community to hold Pakistan accountable and to play a stronger role in ending human rights abuses in the region.
Speakers at the event also demanded the immediate release of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders, including Dr Mahrang Baloch and others, who have faced state repression for advocating justice and raising awareness of the ongoing atrocities
