The body of a young man who had been forcibly disappeared was discovered in the Ginnah area of Turbat, Balochistan.
According to local sources, the deceased has been identified as Meer Dost, son of Abdullah, a resident of Konshkalat, Tump. He was reportedly taken into custody on 13 February 2025 by personnel of the Pakistani military and members of a local death squad operating under its supervision. Since then, he had remained missing until his body was recovered today from Turbat’s Ginnah area.
Sources said that visible signs of torture were found on his body.
Enforced disappearances and targeted killings have been steadily increasing across Balochistan. Human rights organisations have repeatedly called for investigations and an end to these abuses. However, rather than improving, the situation appears to be worsening, with more killings and disappearances being reported in recent months.
