Paroom Tehsil, Panjgur District, Balochistan – March 10, 2025
Thank you for reading this post, and don't forget to share!
Reports have emerged regarding the killing of Wafa Baloch, a resident of Paroom tehsil in Panjgur district, who was allegedly targeted by Pakistani paramilitary forces near the Goldsmith Line, which divides western (Iran-occupied) and eastern (Pakistan-occupied) Balochistan.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has claimed that Baloch had previously been subjected to an enforced disappearance for six months before being released. The group asserts that he was killed while working as a border driver. The incident has been described by BYC as part of an ongoing pattern of violence and human rights abuses in the region.
The committee has called on the international community and human rights organisations to closely monitor the situation in Balochistan and to hold Pakistani authorities accountable for what they allege to be extrajudicial killings and human rights violations.
There has been no immediate response from Pakistani security agencies regarding these claims. However, similar allegations of enforced disappearances and targeted killings have been recurring issues in Balochistan, with human rights groups and local activists consistently raising concerns over the safety of civilians in the region.
