London, 25 March 2025 – Aomar Karim, a prominent Baloch human rights activist, participated in a crucial meeting held at the UK Parliament on 24 March 2025, distributing a leaflet titled Free Mahrang Baloch! End the Repression in Balochistan! The event, titled WHAT NEXT? – USA, Europe & Ukraine, was hosted by Ian Lavery MP on behalf of the Ukraine Solidarity Campaign and brought together key political figures and activists to discuss Ukraine’s ongoing struggle against Russian aggression and the role of international solidarity.
Thank you for reading, and don't forget to share!
The meeting featured Tanya Vyhovsky, a State Senator from Vermont (USA) and a member of the Vermont Progressive Party; Mick Antoniw, a Welsh Senedd member and a longstanding advocate for Ukraine’s labour movement.
Aomar Karim met with Tanya Vyhovsky, Bev Laidlaw, and Mariia Pastukh during the UK Parliament event to highlight the ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan.
Alison Cameron attended the event to show solidarity with Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Baloch activists, raising awareness of the ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan.
I can understand Ukraine’s situation because we Baloch in Balochistan are suffering the same oppression. Our people endure enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and the discovery of dumped bodies. In Pakistan, there are no rights—when you speak about your rights, you risk being killed by the security forces, he stated.
Karim highlighted the case of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, leader of the Baloch Yakjehti (Solidarity) Committee, who was arrested by Pakistani security forces on 22 March 2025 while leading a protest against the disappearances of Baloch youth. He also raised concerns about the recent arrests of Baloch activists Sammi Deen Baloch and Lala Wahab Baloch, who were detained just three hours before the event during a peaceful protest in Karachi. “Pakistani intelligence agencies and police cracked down on peaceful demonstrators, silencing voices demanding justice,” Karim noted.
Aomar Karim distributed a leaflet at the UK Parliament event, highlighting human rights violations in Balochistan and calling for the release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch.
He further stressed the harrowing reality of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, stating, “In every Baloch home, at least one family member has been forcibly disappeared. Families have no idea if their loved ones are alive or dead. Political and human rights activists with no information on their whereabouts.”
Appealing to human rights defenders and political activists worldwide, Karim urged them to raise your voices for the Baloch people. We need your solidarity to expose and end the atrocities being committed in Balochistan by Pakistani authorities.
In his concluding remarks, Aomar Karim expressed gratitude to the Ukraine Solidarity Campaign and the London trade unions for providing him with the platform to highlight the Balochistan crisis. “Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak and bring attention to our struggle,” he said.

“The child killed by your so-called number one agency was just three months old — even infants aren’t spared from your bombings. This reflects the moral bankruptcy and depravity of your nation.”
Dr. Mahrang vows that the struggle for justice will continue, exposing every act of cruelty by the state, as the Baloch people’s history of sacrifice persists despite betrayal.
