A sit-in protest has entered its second day outside Bolan Medical College in Quetta, as demonstrators call for the safe release of Khadija Baloch, who was reportedly forcibly disappeared on the night of 22 April 2026.
Protesters, including students and members of civil society, have gathered at the college entrance, demanding information about her whereabouts. According to Baloch Yakjehti Committee, Khadija Baloch has not been seen since her reported disappearance, and no official statement has been issued her case.
Participants at the sit-in expressed concern over what they describe as a rising number of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Some demonstrators warned that the alleged targeting of women marks an escalation in the situation, raising fears among local communities.
Human rights organisations have previously documented cases of enforced disappearances in the region, urging authorities to ensure transparency and accountability. Protesters at the scene have called for urgent action, including her immediate recovery and adherence to legal safeguards.
The protest is expected to continue unless clear information is provided regarding Khadija Baloch’s condition and location.
