A sit-in protest organised by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) outside Bolan Medical College in Quetta has entered its third day, as demonstrators continue to demand the safe release of Khadija Baloch, who was reportedly forcibly disappeared on 22 April 2026.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee says no progress has been made by the administration in determining her whereabouts during the past three days.
Participants at the sit-in report increased pressure on those attending, including the photographing and profiling of protesters. Concerns have been raised regarding the conduct of Quetta Police, with demonstrators warning that any harm to those present would raise serious questions about the authorities’ responsibility to ensure public safety.
Police have not issued a public response.
The protest has drawn students and members of civil society and highlights wider concerns about enforced disappearances in Balochistan, an issue that has been documented by human rights organisations.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has also called on international organisations and the wider public to raise awareness of the situation. There has been no official update on Khadija Baloch’s condition or location.
