Dr Sabiha Baloch, a central leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), addressed the Baloch nation, urging people to recognise the worsening situation and stand united against ongoing oppression.
She spoke about the spread of violence and suffering, stating that it is threatening lives, homes, and the future of the Baloch people. She emphasised that the root cause of this oppression lies in their identity, inherited from their ancestors, making them rightful heirs of their land.
Dr Sabiha Baloch reminded the public not to forget those who have gone missing, including Mahjabeen, a polio patient missing for nearly a year; Nasreen, a young child; and women such as Haseena, Khadija, and Hair-un-Nisa, who were taken without any proven charges.
She questioned why such actions continue, stating that it is because the Baloch people once showed courage to resist and speak out. According to her, that courage is now being targeted in an attempt to silence and weaken the nation.
Reflecting on the past, she recalled moments of unity, including large public gatherings at Shahwani Stadium in Quetta and the Baloch National Gathering march from Quetta to Gwadar. She raised concerns over the current lack of unity and asked why people have become divided and silent.
She also highlighted the case of Khadija Baloch’s family, who have been protesting for days at BMC in Quetta, waiting for support that has not yet come. She described this silence as a sign of growing helplessness.
Dr Sabiha Baloch criticised the labelling of individuals as “terrorists” without legal process, stressing that no law allows such accusations without a fair trial. She stated that those responsible for enforced disappearances and unlawful actions must be held accountable.
She called on families of missing persons to come forward and urged the public to stand in solidarity with those protesting for justice. She specifically appealed to people in Shal and Makran to support ongoing protests and raise their voices.
In her concluding remarks, she warned that silence in the face of injustice will leave a lasting mark on history. She urged people to speak out, remain united, and take action.
